About HowProcessed
HowProcessed is a free tool that shows how processed a food is, in a few seconds, from your browser. There's no app to install, no account and no paywall.
We built it because the best-known food scanner apps either lock their results behind a subscription or don't explain where their scores come from. We publish our method, link every additive to its evidence, and show our data source on every page.
Product data comes from Open Food Facts, the open, non-profit food database. If you find an error, you can fix it there and everyone benefits.
HowProcessed is independent. We don't sell products, and brands can't pay to change a score.
